The collections present in the Turin University Museums, whose origins date back to 1739, represent an extraordinary deposit of cultural heritage, particularly important on a national and international level.

In recent years restoration and reorganization work in some of the museums has been carried out making them accessible, thanks to the synergy developed between the University, the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin and collaboration with the competent Government Supervisors.

Since 2014 the University Museum System (SMA) has coordinated the museums, managed directly by the University, with the scope of pursuing common goals, to foster the development of their activities.
